A very nice option for those who like to be on the move! Hotel «Bauer» is located in Sonthofen. This hotel is located 2 km from the city center. You can take a walk and explore the neighbourhood area of the hotel. Places nearby: Lech Fall, State Gallery in the High Castle and St. Mang's Abbey..It’s time to have a nice meal! Stop by the restaurant. Specially for tourists who travel by car, there’s a free parking zone. The following services are available At the hotel for winter sports fans: a skiing area, a ski school and ski passes. You won’t be bored as at the hotel you will find a barbeque area..Want to have an excursion? Consult the tour assistance desk of the hotel. Pets are welcome here. Additional services that the hotel offers to its guests: an ATM and a safe-deposit box. The staff of the hotel will be happy to talk to you in English and German.

Disappointing despite a few bright spots
Unfortunately, the negative impressions otherwise clearly outweighed the positives: The hosts were barely present, and the behavior of the family members filling in as well as parts of the staff often seemed abrupt, annoyed, and not very hospitable – even normal requests were sometimes met with eye-rolling.
It was particularly annoying that our confirmed family room was given away to others without prior consultation and we had to switch to two rooms instead, which ultimately was even more expensive for us.
The rooms themselves were smaller than expected, and there were no fresh towels during our stay.
Since the kitchen was closed, we had to order food from outside; we felt it was unnecessarily unfriendly that we were subsequently met with snide remarks because of drinks we had brought with us.
It was also particularly disappointing that no common room or breakfast room was made available to us on a rainy evening because the owners wanted to go to sleep at 8:00 PM and we had to retreat to our small rooms early instead.
Overall, we unfortunately kept getting the feeling that we were more of a burden than welcome guests.
At a hotel in this price range, we do not expect special treatment, but we do expect reliability, polite communication, and a minimum level of hospitality.
The price-performance ratio was therefore not right for us at all, and the stay was unfortunately an unnecessarily stressful and disappointing start to our vacation.

Only advise against it.
Breakfast: Selection very sparse, missing cutlery, coffee was out, juice was out, there were no breakfast eggs (it was offered to notify the service if you wanted one, but the service was not on site). So if something was missing, you had to go to the front office to let them know.
Price: much too high for such poor service ($154 for a double room).
In addition, when you ask about the price, you are given the room rate. When it comes time to pay, the tourist tax is suddenly added to the price, WITHOUT this having been even remotely mentioned beforehand, let alone how much it is!

Older guesthouse with simple rooms
For dinner: In keeping with Henry Ford's saying (you can have a Ford in any color - as long as it's black), there was a huge selection for dinner, namely only schnitzel.

Traditional compact hotel
The food is good and not expensive. There are no bars or restaurants nearby. With the hotel being isolated (it sits on the edge of a residential area) and us not wanting a big night out, we settled for a few quiet beers on the patio area. Prices are favourable, so we were happy with our quiet night.
A supermarket is 2 minutes down the road - very handy for stocking up if you're on the road. There's also a large motor supplies shop nearby, similar to the UK's Halfords shops.
I would recommend the Landhotel Bauer for couples and small groups. I wouldn't say it is ideal for families or honeymoon couples.
