Pretty good stay for young family
The biggest highlight is the location. It’s right on the Esplanade, next to the fantastic playground, with plenty of cafés, restaurants and shops just outside the door. Mooloolaba Beach is only a short walk away, although the section directly opposite the hotel was quite rocky during our stay.
The pool facilities were excellent, especially for winter. There is a warm outdoor spa heated to around 35°C, a smaller spa and outdoor pool heated to approximately 28°C, and a heated indoor pool (which we didn’t get a chance to use).
The staff were friendly and accommodating. They provided complimentary parking passes so we could leave our car before check-in and after check-out, and we were also welcome to continue using the pool facilities on those days.
There are plenty of great dining options within walking distance. We particularly enjoyed Bella Venezia and Fish House Steak & Grill. Both served excellent food, although they are on the expensive side.
The hotel also makes a great base for exploring the Sunshine Coast. We used it for a day trip to Australia Zoo (about a 30-minute drive) and walked to SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Aquarium.
Our apartment was spacious and well equipped, with a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. The large spa bath was a real bonus and was great for young children.
Complimentary wifi worked fine.
There were a few minor downsides. Casting from our phones to the TV was unreliable, working only intermittently. The toilet cistern refilled very slowly after a second flush, sometimes taking up to five minutes. The pillows weren’t particularly comfortable, and while the pull-out sofa bed was adequate, it wasn’t especially comfortable either.
The games room was a little disappointing, with limited activities available and the main table game out of order during our stay.
Parking was complimentary in the secure undercover car park (2.1 m height clearance), and we were able to park two vehicles during our stay, which was a bonus.
Overall, Mantra Mooloolaba Beach offers a fantastic location, friendly service, good facilities and comfortable, well-equipped accommodation. Despite a few minor maintenance and comfort issues, we had a great stay and would definitely consider staying here again.

We completely understand how disappointing it must have been to experience maintenance issues, find the room less spacious than anticipated for travelling with your baby, and feel that the apartment did not offer the comfort or value you were hoping for. Your comments regarding the blinds, kitchen cupboards and bedding have been shared with our management and maintenance teams so they can be reviewed.
We also appreciate your comments regarding the pricing of your stay. While rates do fluctuate during busy periods such as school holidays, we understand that you expected the quality of your accommodation to reflect the price you paid, and we're sorry that this wasn't your experience.
