Romantic getaway

Ancora hotel was the perfect romantic and relaxing getaway. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Hoja Santa restaurant has amazing views and food was even better than the view. I can’t wait to be back!

The hotel’s pool and ocean view were great, but the nearby restaurants were awful.
The pool was relaxing and the ocean view made the stay feel special. Unfortunately, the local restaurants were consistently disappointing, so be ready to look elsewhere for good food.

This is a very well located property with beautiful ocean views and close proximity to a half a dozen fantastic restaurants and the beach. Rooftop pool is great for sunsets. As some have noted, there are some shabbier local buildings nearby, but for me I take that as a taste of Mexico, and I love the fact that there is an authentic Pueblo steps away. Make sure to try some street tacos and churros in the town. Note that if you come back after 11 PM, the doors may be locked and the security guard may be sleeping, which caused me some drama one night.

Our only complaint was the noise. Two out of the four nights we were there we were woken up by very loud music in the area of the hotel. On one occasion it went on until 2:30 AM and on the other until 3:30 AM. It was not the fault of the hotel and not something that they could control, None the less, it significantly detracted from the overall experience. Vacation isn't as much fun if you are overly tired.
